Bio

Hot Ones is a popular series on the First We Feast YouTube channel that interviews celebrities while eating increasingly hot chicken wings. They have over 14 Million Subscribers (As of October 2024). Over the years they have collaborated with heatonist to create their own sauces, which they sell to the public as separate boxes or monthly subscription boxes and gift sets.

Bottle Inspection

Standard Hot Sauce Bottle Shape with a screw on lid. The lid is sealed in place by a yellow serrated seal that runs down the neck of the bottle. The seal has the Hot Ones logo on it in a repeating pattern. The label has the Hot ones logo at the top, followed by the logo of the flavor. This is then followed by the Heat Level. The sauce is a dark brown or amber color.

Pourability

This is a very thin sauce, mostly vinegar in consistency. It pours like it has a vendetta. Be careful.

Smell & Taste

This is a sweet smelling sauce. You can tell it is apple cider based. The chile de arbol peppers add a nice sweetness to the smell that makes it very tame. You immediately feel, and taste, this sauce on each section of the tongue. It is almost like a wave of flavor. First the tingle and then the flavor. This sauce being mostly vinegar based gives it that classic diner hot sauce taste, with a touch of class.

Final Thoughts

This is a delicious classic hot sauce. The only problem with this sauce is the amount that you get. Thin hot sauces are the kind of sauce that you slather on things, dip, etc. A 5 oz bottle, for the price especially, does not really allow for much of that.

Chris Thompson

Chris found his love for hot sauce in 2009. After moving away from home and learning to cook, he ruined many meals. Being too poor to throw the food away, it was then covered in hot sauce just to make it edible. This quickly evolved into a love for the nuances and intricacies of various peppers and how they can change the overall depth of a dish.
