Bio

Hot Ones is a popular series on the First We Feast YouTube channel that interviews celebrities while eating increasingly hot chicken wings. They have over 14 Million Subscribers (As of October 2024). Over the years they have collaborated with heatonist to create their own sauces, which they sell to the public as separate boxes or monthly subscription boxes and gift sets.

Bottle Inspection

Standard Hot Sauce Bottle Shape with a screw on lid. The lid is sealed in place by a yellow serrated seal that runs down the neck of the bottle. The seal has the Hot Ones logo on it in a repeating pattern. The label has the Hot ones logo at the top, followed by the logo of the flavor. This is then followed by the Heat Level. The sauce is a dark brown or amber color. You can see a variety of colors and chunks of pepper meat floating around.

Pourability

This is a farily thin sauce. It pours quickly but clings well.

Smell & Taste

Cumin. Immediate Cumin followed by sweet vinegary notes. The taste is phenominal. It sings cumin all day without being overpowering. The agave nectar and lemon juice bring a youthfullness that helps reduce the heat from the jalepeno and habanero and tames the bitter bite from the vinegar. It has a slight tongue and lip burn that lingers but is quite welcome.

Final Thoughts

This is a sauce that you can put on a lot of things. It has that perfect level of heat that allows you to continuously use it without overwhelming the senses. This sauce is definitely one that should be in every pantry.

Chris Thompson

Chris found his love for hot sauce in 2009. After moving away from home and learning to cook, he ruined many meals. Being too poor to throw the food away, it was then covered in hot sauce just to make it edible. This quickly evolved into a love for the nuances and intricacies of various peppers and how they can change the overall depth of a dish.
