Bio

Hot Ones is a popular series on the First We Feast YouTube channel that interviews celebrities while eating increasingly hot chicken wings. They have over 14 Million Subscribers (As of October 2024). Over the years they have collaborated with heatonist to create their own sauces, which they sell to the public as separate boxes or monthly subscription boxes and gift sets.

Bottle Inspection

Standard Hot Sauce Bottle Shape with a screw on lid. The lid is sealed in place by a yellow serrated seal that runs down the neck of the bottle. The seal has the Hot Ones logo on it in a repeating pattern. The label has the Hot ones logo at the top, followed by the logo of the flavor. This is then followed by the Heat Level. The sauce is a dark orange or amber color.

Pourability

Be sure to shake up this sauce! There is obvious separation in the bottle when looking through the glass. The sauce has a tendency to clump up at the mouth of the bottle and requires some significant shaking to extract.

Smell & Taste

The smell is that classic Buffalo Sauce smell. The notes of garlic ride alongside the vinegar to give a little sting to the nostrils. The taste is that of a classic buffalo, but there is a beautiful blend of sweet andd heat that cuts through the vinegars tang. There is a light mid tongue burn that lingers for several minutes afterwards.

Final Thoughts

This is a delicious buffalo sauce. The only problem with this sauce is the amount that you get. Buffalo is the kind of sauce that you slather on things, dip, etc. A 5 oz bottle, for the price especially, does not really allow for much of that.

Chris Thompson

Chris found his love for hot sauce in 2009. After moving away from home and learning to cook, he ruined many meals. Being too poor to throw the food away, it was then covered in hot sauce just to make it edible. This quickly evolved into a love for the nuances and intricacies of various peppers and how they can change the overall depth of a dish.
