Bio

Badia Spices is a renowned brand known for its wide range of high-quality spices and seasonings. Their Ghost Pepper hot sauce is a testament to their commitment to bringing bold flavors to the market. Made from one of the world’s hottest peppers, this sauce is designed for those who truly crave intense heat.

Bottle Inspection

Standard Shrink Wrap Seal with a twist off cap. The label itself is textured to emulate a LIGHT burlap feel. Sauce is a dark orange with a lot going on inside. Seeds and bits of pepper pulp are visible inside of the liquid.

Pourability

The small drip cap, surprisingly, does not get in the way. One would think that a sauce this thick would need some force to remove, but it slides right out ever so gently.

Smell & Taste

The smell of this sauce is intoxicating. It has a beautiful aroma that screams HEAT, but also lets you know that everything is going to be OK. No doubt all of the various fruit pulps have something to do with it. The hint of smokiness from the Ghost Pepper adds to the balance. Not much frontal tongue burn at all. Upon first sampling the sauce, you get a nice flavor burst and the lemon and papaya pulp is very present. This only lasts a second or two because the heat starts to hit in the back of the tongue and the throat. This is where the burn comes in strong. The sauce has a nice smokey taste without killing the recipient. The burn is quite intense for a few minutes and then the half life comes into play very quickly.

Final Thoughts

I am very fond of this sauce. I picked it up at my local grocery store in the international isle and didn’t think much of it at first. I was, however, hooked from the first sample. I have put this sauce on my sausage biscuit, every morning, in a 5 dot cross pattern. The smokey flavor mixed with the heat is a great wake up call. And surprisingly it pairs well with coffee too!

Chris Thompson

Chris found his love for hot sauce in 2009. After moving away from home and learning to cook, he ruined many meals. Being too poor to throw the food away, it was then covered in hot sauce just to make it edible. This quickly evolved into a love for the nuances and intricacies of various peppers and how they can change the overall depth of a dish.
